Fest details: Waves, Annual Social and Cultural Fest of the BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, will present its 2013 edition from the 26th to the 28th of October (tentative). This year, Waves will be honoring the theme and tagline of Hit the Rewind, is going to be organized on an even larger scale, with ongoing talks of several international performances, a distinguished platter of exotic professional workshops, acclaimed creative studios, celebrities and experts in line to judge the various events. We also promise to come alive this year with a host of informals, exhibitions and stalls, for just about anyone in the fest looking to have the time of their lives.
Since its onset in the year 2005, Waves, the annual cultural fest of BITS Goa has escalated to new horizons every year with its eclectic mix of mind-boggling events. The footfall has been on an upward trend, with colleges coming in from every corner of the country. Waves has witnessed some of the most talented stars of the country, with Vidya Balan, VJ Bani, Anu Hasan being a few. With the previous editions having seen performances by Parikrama, DJ Suketu, Thermal and a quarter, KK, Raeth, Something Relevant, Agam and Kailash Kher, Waves 2012 had a huge task to accomplish, which they not only lived upto, but easily surpassed. Going international for the first time, Waves 2012-Relive the Streets witnessed Dead Letter Circus and Strings, both of who gave sensational performances. BITS Goa was the first to host the much-awaited Sunburn Campus with performances by DJ Nikhil and DJ Pearl. The big 4 of the fest are Natyanjali: the art of dance, Mr. and Ms. Waves: The eternal search for the X-factor, Sea Rock: Rocking the nation right off its feet with its celebration of music and FashP: the fashion parade where models stride right into your heart with fiery elegance and panache. Along with the big 4, a plethora of other events that are equally enticing include Dance Duo, Nukkad Natak, JAM, art events like Blind Art and Panorama, Quizzes, Wall Street fete, Showdown, Silence of the Amps and much more. With workshops like 3-D art, BBoying and Digital Matte painting beckon you with their irresistible offer you can’t say no to. After soaring to unmapped heights, and astounding a great many minds, Waves reverts back to its humble origin, and does a tribute to its journey, with Waves 2013 ‘Hit the Rewind’. A journey along which it encountered ambition, desperation, tears, faith, dilemmas, success, and finally love. Trying to go bigger and better, Waves 2013 surely has a lot in store for all.
