Fest details: GITAM MUN ,the GITAM Model United Nations under Indian Institute for Technical Education(ISTE) and in collaboration with United Nations Information Center for India and Bhutan, Delhi goes National this time! This is a Two day event, scheduled on 23rd and 24th of December, 2013 . The event provides an exciting opportunity for the participants to experience diplomacy and dynamics of International Relations.
Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. This activity takes place at MUN conferences, which is usually organized by a high school or college MUN club. At the end of most conferences, outstanding delegates in each committee are recognized and given an award certificate; the Best Delegate in each committee, however, receives a gavel. It involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
GOALS and OBJECTIVES:
During a conference, participants must employ a variety of communication and critical thinking skills in order to represent the policies of their country. These skills include public speaking, group communication, research, policy analysis, active listening, negotiating, conflict resolution, note taking, and technical writing.
